Do I need to be local to work with RSpec Performance?
We're based in Sacramento and most work is done in-shop by appointment. We take customers from across the Greater Sacramento Valley (Roseville, Rocklin, Folsom, Elk Grove, Davis, and beyond), and out-of-town customers who ship or trailer their cars in for builds and tunes — reach out and we'll plan the logistics.
What makes RSpec different from a dealership?
Rav is a Nissan master technician with 7+ years at the dealer and 10+ years of hands-on JDM and performance work. You get dealer-level diagnostic equipment and OEM expertise, plus the tuning and fabrication skill that a dealer service bay can't offer.
Do you work on cars other than Nissan?
Yes. Our specialty is Nissan and JDM platforms, but we regularly work on Subaru, Toyota/Lexus, Ford, and modern performance cars on Cobb, EcuTek, and dyno. If you're not sure, ask us.
Can I supply my own parts?
We're happy to install customer-supplied parts from reputable brands. We don't warranty customer-supplied parts, and we'll tell you honestly if what you picked isn't the right fit — before we turn a wrench.
How does a tune work? How long does it take?
Most tunes are a 1–2 day process: baseline dyno, datalogging, calibration passes, and a final street validation. Complex builds with new hardware take longer. You leave with a documented calibration, logs, and a dyno graph.
Do you offer financing or payment plans?
For larger builds we can structure staged payments — deposit, parts, labor, and final delivery. Reach out with your project and we'll scope it out.
How do I book an appointment?
Use the contact form with your car details and what you're after. We respond within 24 hours on business days. For time-sensitive questions, the fastest reply is usually DM on Instagram.
